The Need to Pivot: Shifting parental roles to empower students during the college process

What support do students need from their parents/guardians during the college search process? How does it benefit students to engage in this process from a place of empowerment rather than a place of dependency? In this workshop, we'll discuss ways in which parents/guardians can effectively support students through the college search process by anticipating some of their needs, moods and aspirations. The workshop will consider the challenges and rewards that come from being a "backseat passenger" throughout the process with the student in the driver's seat. Parents/guardians will leave the workshop with tips and tools for shifting their roles and pivoting to promote growth in students as they transition into adulthood.
