Greeters: 9:15-11 a.m.
Guardians: 8:15 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Dulles International Airport
1 Saarinen Circle
Dulles, VA 20166
Join fellow W&M alumni, parents, family and friends as we greet World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans flying into D.C. from Chicago to visit the memorials created in their honor.
We will greet these heroes as they exit the plane at Dulles International Airport. This is a family-friendly event. Red, white and blue apparel and posters are encouraged!
In addition to registering with us on this website, you will need to register directly with Honor Flight Chicago, so they know you are volunteering, can issue you a parking voucher for the garage at Dulles Airport, and be able to pair you with a veteran if you so desire. Click here to complete your registration as a Greeter. Make sure to complete both the registration on this page and the registration on the Honor Flight Chicago website.
If you would like to spend the entire day with a veteran as their personal buddy, register as a Guardian. We ask that you submit your application ASAP and no later than Wednesday, May 25. 3 weeks before the actual flight date, and 1 week earlier than the general public can respond, you will get a follow-up email asking you to confirm your availability for that flight. Once you confirm your availability, your position as Guardian will be ensured, and you will be grouped with other W&M alumni. When filling out the application, please list “W&M” as the answer to the question, ”How did you hear about HFC?”
More information about Honor Flight Chicago’s 2022 season can be found here.
